Privacy policy

Short, because we collect very little.

No accounts

You can't sign up for RoomRacer and you don't need to. We don't ask for your name or email, and the 3D configurator runs in your browser. It may remember small preferences, such as parts you already own, in your browser's local storage; that stays on your device. A rig you share is encoded in the link itself, not stored with us.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't follow you across other sites. It records things like the page you viewed, the site that sent you, your country, and your browser and device type, and we only see them as totals.

We also use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and builds people use. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) and processes your IP address and device details on Google's servers; see how Google uses data from sites that use its services. If you visit from the European Union, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google Analytics only loads after you allow it in the cookie banner; elsewhere it loads by default. You can change your choice any time with , use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or block cookies in your browser. Our own visit counter and Vercel Web Analytics don't use cookies, so they run either way.

We also run our own anonymous visit counter. It doesn't use cookies. For each page view it adds one to a daily total and the page path, and to count unique visitors it keeps a one-way hash of your IP address and browser made with that day's date; your IP address is never stored as is. Counts are deleted after 90 days.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and keep the service secure.

When you click through to a store

Links to Amazon, brand stores and other retailers are affiliate links. When you follow one, that store may set cookies so it can credit us with a sale. What the store collects is covered by its own privacy policy, not this one.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or share personal information.
  • We don't run ads or advertising trackers; Google Analytics is used for traffic statistics only.
  • The site isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this changes, for example if we add a newsletter, we'll update this page first.
